Ashkanan (IP) - An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale shook Ashkanan on the border of Hormozgan and Fars provinces at 7:43 a.m. local time on Sunday.

Iran PressIran news: The quake struck at a depth of 16 kilometers, according to the University of Tehran Seismological Center.

The epicenter was reported at 53.57 longitudes and 27.12 latitudes.

The epicenter of the earthquake is 12 km from Ashkanan in Fars province, 14 km from Fars province, and 18 km from Bandar-e-Mogham in Hormozgan province.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage.
