Fifth round of Iran-Afghanistan strategic cooperation talks held

Tehran (IP) - The fifth round of talks on a comprehensive document on Iran-Afghanistan strategic cooperation was held today in Tehran between delegations chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister Mirwais Nab.

Iran PressIran News: Abbas Araghchi expressed satisfaction with the progress made in this round and expressed hope that a comprehensive document on strategic cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan would soon be ready for signing by the two presidents.

This document covers the perspective of long-term relations between the two countries in the fields of politics, security, economy, culture, and issues related to the citizens of the two countries, as well as the issue of water.

Prior to the talks, Abbas Araghchi and Mirwais Nab, Deputy Foreign Ministers of the two countries, met separately to review the negotiation process and stressed the will of their countries to finalize the document as soon as possible.

The talks will continue tomorrow, Monday.
