Iran condemnes illegal detention of Palestinian prisoners

Tehran (IP) - Stressing the release of Palestinian prisoner Maher al-Akhras in an Israeli prison, Iran's Foreign Ministry announced that the occupiers must end their arbitrary detention.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Foreign Ministry tweeted on Sunday, referring to the hunger strike of a Palestinian prisoner, that Maher al-Akhras has been detained without any charges for three months.

Despite his hunger strike and international outcry, the Israeli regime has refused to end his unjustified detention, the tweet stated.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has stressed that the occupiers must end arbitrary detentions and free him and hundreds of unjustly held Palestinians.

Al-Akhras, 49, is from the West Bank city of Jenin and was detained by the Israeli regime on July 27 without charge.

He has been on a hunger strike for 90 days to protest his detention and a significant number of other Palestinian prisoners.
