Iran Judo Federation president:

Tehran (IP) - The president of Iran's Judo Federation said that I am optimistic about the verdict of the Court of Arbitration for Sport that the Iranian judo will be judged fairly.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with IranPress on Wednesday, Arash Miresmaili announced that a month ago, the Court of Arbitration for Sport gave Iran's Judo Federation and the World Judo Federation a one-month deadline to reach an agreement.

The president of Iran's Judo Federation noted that it took six months for the bills to be prepared and invite witnesses to the court session.

According to the request of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the content of the negotiations should remain confidential until the sports arbitration court announces its verdict.

Miresmaili stated that sincere negotiations have been held with the president of the World Judo Federation.

He clarified: "We are waiting for the final ruling of the Court of Arbitration for Sport on the banning of Iranian Judo, but we did our best to defend Iranian Judo's right."

International Judo Federation in an official protective suspension verdict (sentence) on Wednesday, 18 September 2019 banned Iran's federation and its related associations, from doing any executive and organized the civil activity.

The reason was allegations of the deliberate defeat of Iranian judo star Saeid Mollaei, during World Cup 2019.
