International Judo Federation suspends Iran Judo

International Judo Federation officially suspended all Iranian Judo federation activities.

Iran Press/Europe: International Judo Federation in an official protective suspension verdict (sentence) on Wednesday banned Iran's federation and its related associations of doing any executive and organized the civil activity.

The reason is allegations on the deliberate defeat of Iranian judo star Saeid Mollaei, during last month's World Cup, Iran Press reported.

The facts and proceedings are in sharp contradiction with the content of a letter sent to the World Judo Federation on May 6, signed by Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, head of the Iranian National Olympic Committee, and Arash Mirasmaili, head of the Iranian Judo Federation.

In addition to this, it has been claimed that the Iranian Federation has committed serious violations of the laws, legitimate interests, regulations, and objectives as well as the World Judo Federation's Code of Ethics.

In the verdict issued by International Jude Federation, it has been stated that the Iranian Judo Federation is able to appeal the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) within 21 days of being notified. 101/219/104
