About 424k recover from COVID-19 in Iran: Health Ministry spox

Tehran (IP) - The Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari announced on Saturday that so far, 526,490 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 423,921 of the total infected people have recovered.

Iran PressIran news: "According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to October 17, 2020, 4,103 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed, out of whom 1,779 of patients were hospitalized," Lari stated.

She added that in the past 24 hours, 253 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 30,123.

4,721 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

"So far, 4,482,263 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted," the Health Ministry Spokeswoman noted.

She pointed out that Provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, East Azarbaijan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Qazvin, Lorestan, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Gilan, Bushehr, Zanjan, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Alborz, West Azarbaijan, Markazi, Kerman, North Khorasan, Hamadan, Yazd, and Kordestan are regarded as red zones.

According to the Health Ministry Spokeswoman, provinces of Hormozgan, Fars, and Golestan are on alert.
