Tehran (IP) - Head of the Iranian Judiciary's High Council for Human Rights said those countries that put the heaviest pressures on the Iranian nation cannot claim advocacy of human rights.

Iran Press/Iran news: In his meeting with Austria's envoy to Tehran Stefan Schulz on Wednesday, Ali Bagheri Kani said the countries that enjoy imposing sanctions against the Iranian nation and increase the pressure every day and do not even show mercy to the sick children, must not speak about human rights before the Iranian nation.

Bagheri Kani stressed that the Iranian nation will neither forget some European countries' anti-human actions nor forgive them.

"The comments by some western governments in support of several Iranian convicts sentenced through a legal process on the one hand, and their supports for such blood-thirstiest regimes as Israel and Saudi Arabia who are responsible for the massacre of thousands of innocent people in Palestine and Yemen on the other hand, proves the West's dishonesty and hypocrisy in advocating human rights, he noted.

Bagheri Kani also referred to various areas of legal and judicial cooperation between Iran and Austria and welcomed the expansion of the cooperation.

Austria's envoy to Tehran for his part announced the readiness of his country to expand legal cooperation with Iran and noted that no country like Iran has the capacity for rapid economic growth in the post-corona era, since the country enjoys a young population and rich natural resources as well as a strong will to progress.
