National annual oil conference held

Tehran (IP) - The National annual oil conference of oil was held on Tuesday in Tehran, with introducing the plans and achievements of Iran’s oil, gas, refining, and petrochemicals were the high profile issues discussed.

Iran PressIran News: Developing and empowering the private sector in the oil economy and improving business conditions in Iran’s oil industry are among the aim of this annual meeting.

Predicting the economy at international dimensions and cooperating with science and technology centers in the oil industry is also on the agenda.

The former head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, Mohammad Reza Moudodi, said that relying on oil export did not let us use our financial sources well.

"In the last two decades, the petrochemical industry could prove itself and had a good share in non-oil product export," he added.

"12 billion dollars is the share of petrochemical products in non-oil products, which proves its importance and can be a basis for industrial development," he noted.

"If we do not start investing in mega projects and compatible products, we can not have currency income," Moudodi concluded.
