Islamabad (IP)- The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam met the newly elected Head of the Jamaat-e-Islami, one of the oldest political parties in Pakistan.

Iran PressAsia:  Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam congratulated Hafiz Naeem Ul Rehman on being elected as the head of Jamaat-e-Islami and expressed his best wishes for him.

During the meeting, the Iranian ambassador said that the electoral system of Jamaat-e-Islami is very democratic and can be imitated and Jamaat-e-Islami is standing with the Palestine cause with all its strength, and at the moment, the world's general opinion is in favor of Palestine. The Iranian ambassador said that we appreciate the historic role of Jamaat-e-Islami for the unity of the Ummah.

On this occasion, the head of  Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem Ul Rehman said that we value Iran's role in the Palestine issue and that the resistance by Palestinians needs more support from Iran.

Talking about the gas pipeline project, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami said that the government should come out of international pressure on the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project and the government should not delay in completing this project.

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Reza Amiri Moghaddam also invited the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami to visit Iran.
