Tehran (IP) - Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani stressed the strict observance of health protocols as a new wave of the coronavirus has started to spread with the beginning of the autumn.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at a meeting of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus on Saturday, Rouhani stated that at the beginning of the autumn season, the health protocols for COVID-19 must be observed nationwide because the other diseases, such as the flu, will spread in the country at the same time.

The president added that in some neighboring countries, diseases such as pneumonia, have started to spread recently, adding, taking precaution steps is necessary.

Rouhani undermined the effectiveness of the coronavirus vaccine, saying: "A person who is infected with the virus would not have antibodies in his body for more than 2-3 months and will be infected again, so the vaccine is ineffective in this regard."

"We do not know what the effects of the vaccine are and how many months it will create immunity," the president said. "Even if the vaccine is produced, we must still follow the hygienic protocols, including using the mask, social distancing and washing the hands, disinfecting, and avoiding unnecessary travels."

"Even if we are given the vaccine, we cannot consider the situation normal," Rouhani noted.

The president also stressed the need for more investment in health, knowledge-based economy, digital economy, and e-government.
