Over 355k recovered from COVID-19: Health Ministry spox

Tehran (IP) - The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari said on Friday that so far, 416,198 people in the country have definitely been infected with the coronavirus, and 355,505 of the total infected people have recovered.

Iran PressIran News: According to Lari, the definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to September 18, 2020, shows that 3,049 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed, out of whom 1,593 of patients were hospitalized.

The spokeswoman said that in the past 24 hours, 144 COVID-19 patients lost their lives, bringing the total number of deaths to 23,952.

3,869 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition, she added.

"So far, around 3,691,399 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted," the health ministry spokeswoman noted.

According to the spokeswoman, the provinces of Tehran, Mazandaran, Gilan, Qom, Isfahan, Khorasan Razavi, East Azerbaijan, Kerman, North Khorasan, Semnan, Yazd, Zanjan, and Qazvin are regarded as red zones.

Also, the provinces of West Azerbaijan, Alborz, Fars, Lorestan, Hormozgan, Ardabil, Bushehr, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, South Khorasan, Markazi, Ilam, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Golestan, and Khuzestan are on alert.
