Tehran(IP) - In a telephone conversation with the Syrian Prime Minister, the Iranian First Vice President said that Tehran's policies in support of Syria and the Resistance Front have not changed, and Iran as a strategic partner will always stand by the Syrian government and people.

Iran PressIran news: "The Islamic Republic of Iran will spare no effort to reduce the pressure on the Syrian people," Eshaq Jahangiri, the first vice president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, told Syrian Prime Minister Hossein Arnous in a telephone conversation on Thursday.

Jahangiri said that the resistance of the Syrian government, people and armed forces in facing problems has led to good results, adding that Syria's powerful presence in the Arab community shows the victory of the Syrian people in the fight against terrorism.

The First Vice President of Iran also reminded that the international community, especially the United Nations and other international organizations should provide serious support to the people of Syria in terms of medicine and basic commodities while coronavirus disease has affected the nations of the world particularly the Syrian people.

Hossein Arnous, while appreciating the assistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the Syrian people and reducing the pressure on the country, said: "The policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting Syria has become a strategy to strengthen the resistance front against the enemies and those supporting terrorist groups in Syria."

Referring to the Iranian delegation's visit to Damascus and the agreements reached, the Syrian Prime Minister stressed Damascus' interest in further strengthening relations with Tehran.

Hassan Danaeifar, Advisor to the First Vice President of the Republic of Iran and Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Economic Relations with Syria and Iraq, who visited Damascus, met with Hossein Arnus on Thursday to discuss ways to expand economic cooperation between Tehran and Damascus.
