Iran Press/ Iran news: The third indigenous satellite made by IRGC named 'Noor 3' was launched into space by a three-stage satellite carrier and successfully placed in an orbit 450 km from the earth.
This is the third successful launching by Qased which previously had launched Noor 1 and Noor 2 satellites.
Wednesday's launch showed that Qased satellite carrier was capable of being put in the production line.
As a reconnaissance and measurement satellite, Noor 3 was launched with a velocity of 6.7 km/s and was settled in the very orbit after 500 seconds.
Noor 3 weighs 32 kg which is 7 kg heavier than Noor 2; Also, the imaging quality of Noor 3 has improved 2.5 times compared to its previous generation, and its resolution has reached 6 to 4.8 meters.
In the first stage, the engine with liquid fuel is separated and then the second engine with solid fuel with a moving nozzle is activated that takes the satellite up to 450 km altitude from the earth to the intended orbit. In the third stage, the third solid fuel engine is activated and prepares the necessary force for the satellite to navigate around the earth with a velocity of 28,000 km/h.
Noor 3 is a satellite in the class of nano-satellites or ultra-light satellites that can take images with the desired accuracy.
Both the Noor 3 satellite and its carrier Qased were designed and developed in IRGC's R&D unit.
Sina, Omid, Rasad, Navid, Fajr, and Payam satellites launched from 2005 to 2019 are categorized as Iran's aerospace achievements enabling the country to study underground resources, establish a mutual connection between the satellite and the ground station, and take photographs from the Earth's surface.
'Noor 3' was launched successfully into space by Qased carrier on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
