Maduro defends right to freely trade with Iran

Following the Iranian oil tankers reached Venezuela, President Nicol?s Maduro in a message, thanked Iran's government and nation.

Iran PressAmerica: In this message, Nicolás Maduro emphasized the right of Venezuela to 'freely trade' with Iran.

The Venezuelan president in a meeting with the members of the country's presidential committee to fight against the Coronavirus said that Iran and Venezuela want peace and they have the right to trade freely in the free seas.

In another message in his Twitter account, the Venezuelan president published pictures of the Iranian ship carrying gasoline for this country and wrote: "The end of Ramadan brought us the arrival of the Fortune ship, that is a sign of solidarity between the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Venezuela. Where imperialist countries want to impose their rules by force, only brotherhood can save free people. Thank you Iran."

The first and second Iranian oil tankers, the Fortune and Forrest, carrying fuel sent from Iran have entered the Venezuelan waters in order to deliver its cargo.

Three other Iranian oil tankers, the Clavel, Faxon, and Petunia, are also following the Fortune and Forest tankers, heading for the Venezuelan coast.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has sent five fuel tankers to support the Venezuelan government and people, which are under US economic siege.

The shipments have caused a diplomatic standoff between Iran, Venezuela, and the United States as both nations are under US sanctions. 104/207
