Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Tuesday that legal trade continues in the world and the United States is not allowed to disrupt it.

Iran Press/Iran news: Asked about the threat to Iranian ships heading for Venezuela, Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Tuesday that the United States was not allowed to disrupt legal trade because such policy was a global threat.

Iran's foreign minister stressed that if a country wants to make a decision based on its own wrong policies and take action to disrupt legal trade, it will certainly face an international backlash.

Iran's Foreign wrote letters to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Sunday, following reports of US government officials threatening to harass Iranian fuel tankers heading to Venezuela calling the United States unlawful, dangerous and provocative threats a kind of piracy and a great threat to international peace and security.

Following the letter, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi summoned the Swiss ambassador to Tehran as the interests section of the United States saying any threat against Iran's oil tankers would be confronted by Iran's prompt and decisive reaction and the US administration would be held responsible for its possible consequences.
