Tehran (IP)- Head of Food and Drug Administration of Iran (FDA) Mohammad Reza Shanesaz stated that he is predicting a 10-fold increase in influenza vaccine imports compared to last year.

Iran Press/Iran news: Mohammad Reza Shanesaz in a video conference on Friday said, "In order to prepare the necessary items to deal with and fight coronavirus in Iran, valuable measures have been taken in a short time."

He added, "Within two to three weeks, we were able to meet the needs of the people in the field of disinfectants in the country. In the past, about 2,000 clothes were imported to the country for medical services. But now the quality of the manufactured clothes in the country is much better than the imported ones and we have no shortage in this field."

"In the field of ventilator production, we were able to produce this device domestically, and we can export these devices as well," said Shanesaz.

"Given the global demand for the Influenza vaccine this year, we're also predicting a 10-fold increase in influenza vaccine imports compared to last year and all the necessary work has been done," He added.

The head of the Food and Drug Administration further noted, "We are working on medicine and vaccines, and we hope to be pioneered in vaccine and drug production."
