Tehran (IP) - Azerbaijan Republic’s ambassador to Iran stated during the coronavirus outbreak, while many countries shut down their borders and cut their economic ties, Iran and Azerbaijan kept their ties ongoing.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Bunyad Huseynov Azerbaijan ambassador to Iran said Iran and Azerbaijan's ties in various fields are ongoing.

While paying a visit to Iran's National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) accompanied by the head of the library Asharaf Broujerdi, Huseynov reiterated the cooperation to help both countries to have more economic and political relations.

In comparison to the past, Iran-Azerbaijan ties extended, said the Azeri official. 

On the occasion of Iran's National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) anniversary held on Wednesday morning May 7, 2020, Azerbaijan's ambassador paid a visit to the library.

Azerbaijan Republic Ambassador to Tehran Bunyad Huseynov in his visit to Iran's National Library and Archives of Iran pointing to the historical, cultural, and literature commonalities between the two countries, Bunyad Huseynov said: "Virtual libraries can provide services to meet people's needs during the COVID-19 shutdown." 

Bunyad Huseynov said that the head of Azerbaijani Muslims, Jews, and Christian representatives had urged the United States to lift sanctions on Iran.

The National Library of Iran was established in 1937. The library has been merged with the Islamic Revolution Cultural Documentation Organization (IRCDO) to form the National Library and Archives of Iran.
