Tehran (IP) - Iran Foreign Ministry in a twitter message expressed its deep concern over the detention of 1,500 migrants in US detention centers.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Foreign Ministry wrote in a tweet on Tuesday 28 April that “We raise a deep concern about UN Human Rights report indicating 1500 migrants are in jeopardy, as they're held in overcrowded & unsanitary detention center in America. The regime must be held accountable for the poor treatment of migrants. They are not offenders. Let them go! amid COVID19.”

The United States is currently one of the countries with the highest number of COVID-19 patients in the world, with more than 56,000 people killed so far.

The United States has been pursuing strict and discriminatory policies toward immigrants, especially since US President Donald Trump took office.
