Iran Press/ Iran news: Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, advised people not to hold public meetings, prayers, and speeches during the holy month of Ramadan this year and advised them to worship, supplicate and be humble in solitude, at homes, and among families.
Another blessing of the holy month of Ramadan is to achieve growth in individual and social dimensions, charity, and help, especially in this ordeal and such days, causes individual growth, which is the prelude to the social growth of any society.
Given the spread of Corona disease and the difficult living conditions for some people, the help and empathy of all people, especially Muslims, is needed to eradicate the disease and help those in need.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei, emphasized, "It is good that during the holy month of Ramadan, a large-scale maneuver is formed to provide financial assistance, empathy, and pious help to the needy and the poor people."
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar that is observed by Muslims worldwide. While fasting from dawn until sunset, Muslims abstain from eating and drinking. Moon sighting is carried in Iran by the Office of Islamic Revolution Leader prior to the fasting month to declare the beginning of the holy month.
The month lasts 29 or 30 days based on the visual sightings of the crescent moon. Eid Al-Fitr marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
As the Coronavirus outbreak put restrictions on all social interactions, this year, holy Ramadan's mass ceremonies such as Iftar or Quran recitation, and mass prayers at holy sites have given way to individual prayers and worship at home.
Meanwhile, Iranians fast according to the principles of health guidelines regarding the Coronavirus and hold religious rites individually to celebrate this holy, blessed month.
In addition to this, many people dedicate their votives and oblations of Iftar ceremonies to charity for the poor.
Saturday, April 25 is the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.
