The Tweet of Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi described Earth Day's Tweet of the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as "shameful."

Iran Press/Iran news: Responding to the recent Tweet of the US Secretary of State, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday that "as we celebrate Earth Day, Donald Trump exit from Paris Agreement & WHO fund halt, threatens the beauty of our planet and the integrity of global COVID-19 related health responses."

"So, Pompeo's wish for our planet is shameful, hypocrite & ignorant about the global norms," Mousavi added in his message.

Earlier on Wednesday, Pompeo published a message on his Twitter account to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Earth Day.

"The world has banded together to fight a common enemy in COVID-19. May we have the same level of cooperation as we continue to seek a cleaner, safer and healthier planet for all of us," Pompeo wrote in his Tweet.
