Saudi Arabia open to talks with Iran: Saudi FM

Saudi Arabia’s FM Faisal bin Farhan said that his country is open to talks with Tehran.

Iran Press/Middle East: On the sidelines of the annual meeting of World Economic Forum (WEF) Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said on Wednesday 22 January that Saudi Arabia is open to talks with Tehran.

He also said, in an interview with Reuters that Saudi Arabia is ready to engage in talks with Iran.

Speaking in Davos, Switzerland the Saudi Foreign Minister also briefly mentioned media reports claiming the country had been involved in a plot to hack the phone of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and dismissed the media reports as “absurd.”

Saudi Arabia would investigate if it were presented with evidence “that substantiated these claims,” he added. Prince Faisal also said he was not concerned that the UN statement would hurt foreign investment. “If there are concerns by some people, we will try to address those concerns,” he said.
