Iranian and Ukrainian foreign ministers confer on phone

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said that Tehran is ready to hand over the bodies of Ukrainian victims of the January 8 plane crash, according to the Foreign Ministry's website.

Iran Press/Iran news: In a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Vadym Prystaiko on Thursday, Zarif also said Iran was ready to involve Ukrainian experts in the investigation on the black boxes of the Ukrainian International Airlines plane.

Prystaiko expressed appreciation over Iran's acknowledgment of the responsibility in the unintentional shooting-down of the plane as well as its cooperation in every stage of the investigation.

All 176 passengers aboard the Boeing 737 lost their lives among whom were 140 Iranians and nationals from other countries including Britain and Ukraine.

Iran has started an internal investigation on causes of the fatal human error and promised cooperation with authorized international bodies.
