In a ceremony to commemorate the martyrdom of Iranian IRGC Quds force commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in Gaza, young Palestinians set fire to American and Israeli flags showing their anger and disgust at America's assassination of the top Iranian General.

Iran Press/Middle East: Palestinian Resistance Groups Joint Operation command expressed its condolences over Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani's martyrdom.

The martyred Iranian General was assassinated along with several senior members of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in the early hours of Friday morning 3 January at Baghdad International airport, Iran Press reported.

Both the Palestinian Hamas and Islamic Jihad resistance groups attended the commemoration ceremony. Other popular Palestinian resistance groups also attended the ceremony which was held in the central Gaza strip.

Palestinian Fatah and Hamas issued separate statements yesterday (Friday) strongly condemning America's assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.

Abbas Zaky a member of Fatah movement committee in an interview with Lebanese Al-Mayadin TV described Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani as 'Middle East's Che Guevara' and said Iran will definitely avenge the blood of the martyred IRGC General, and the US will definitely pay a price.

On Saturday huge numbers of Iraqis gathered for the funeral procession of the legendary martyred Iranian General, Qasem Soleimani and the Deputy Chief of Iraq's PMF, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in Kadhimiya, a city near, Baghdad, the capital of the country.

It is worth noting that Lieutenant General Soleimani was awarded Iran’s highest military order, the Order of Zulfaqar, by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for outstanding services to Islamic Iran. He became the first Iranian military official to receive the rare honur after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
