Tehran (IP) - For two consecutive years, Tehran has been one of the 50 Innovative Cities in the world and its ranking has improved every year, Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari said today in 3rd Smart Tehran Conference.

Iran PressIran news: The 3rd Smart Tehran Conference kicked off at Milad Tower in Tehran.

Vice president for science and technology delivering speech in this ceremony noted: "Our universities know that they have to move in the direction of a smart city in the future. Otherwise, they will fail".

"Anyone who confronts the youth in the traditional way will fail. Business activists will be replaced in the future and employment will increase tremendously. Traditional businesses have no choice but to buy startups. The private sector should invest in youth, young people with their capital in their minds," the official stated.

Referring to the digital ecosystem as the main issue in smart cities he added: "considering globalization index, Tehran is amongst the first 50 most innovative cities in the world". 207/219
