A group of Iranian scientists have designed and constructed a ship body inspection robot for the first time in Iran.

Iran PressIran news: The first ship body inspection robot was designed and built-in Iran.

The manager of the ship inspection robot Nader Ranjbar said that this robot has been built by the assistance of Sharif University of Technology scientists in Tehran, adding: "Ship inspection robot takes images and inspects the ship by attaching to the body of the ship."

He further noted: "This robot can go up to 40 meters underwater. Due to the new rules of international organizations, it is necessary to constantly check the body of the ships for any kind of damage and by making this robot in Iran, in addition to accelerating ship inspection operations, we can avoid spending millions of dollars of foreign currency annually for the purchase of these systems," Iran Press reported.

"The robot has also the capability to give service to all shipping lines for periodic inspections of vessels and offshore platforms, making it more capable than foreign products," Ranjbar added.
