Iran envoy in the UN General Assembly second committee, Ali Hajilari

Iran's envoy to the UN General Assembly's second committee, Ali Hajilari said that the unilateral actions of some powers have put international powers, stability, and security at serious risk.

Iran PressAmerica: At its twenty-third plenary session, the UN General Assembly's second committee on Thursday by a majority vote, adopted a resolution entitled: 'Countering unilateral economic action as a tool for political and economic threat against developing countries'.

Ali Hajilari added at the meeting: "No country should remain silent against such illegal acts, because it will not be immune from the negative effects of such actions," Iran Press reported.

Hajilari emphasized that US unilateral acts of violence, especially in relation to the mass punishment of civilians, are a clear example of economic terrorism and the US has abused its economic and financial power over Iran for more than 40 years to harm ordinary people and gain political advantage.

He argued that there is no moral or human justification for the innocent civilians to be compensated for political failures and achieving political purposes, and any action that prevents a country's population access to medicines, food, education and basic needs, must be condemned by consensus of the international community as a crime against humanity

"The unilateral economic, financial and trade measures against Iran and many other countries are in fact a full-blown war, not just a war," he said.
