Syrian Deputy Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade described the attraction of Iranian investment for reconstruction as Syria’s priority.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at a Conference on ‘Investment Opportunities in Syria’ on Sunday, the Syrian Deputy Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Rania al-Ahmad said: “The Syrian government and nation have experienced a devastating war during the recent years and today, as it has ended, we intend to break the siege which has been created during the times of war.”

She referred to the compilation of a new investment law in Syria, saying, “The attraction of Iranian investment is our top priority for the reconstruction of Syria.”

Syrian Ambassador to Tehran, Adnan Hassan Mahmoud also described Iran as a major commercial partner in the time of Syria’s reconstruction, saying, “We have strategic cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and as Iran once helped Syria in the times of war, the collaborations will continue in the period of reconstruction.

On Feb 25, the Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani emphasized that it will support, cooperate and help the Syrian government like before.

On the other side, on Jul 03, Syria's President, Bashar al-Assad reiterated that his country will support Iran against any threat, act of aggression, or violation of international law.
