Foreign ministers of the BRICS group of countries started a two-day meeting in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, on June 10, 2024.

Iran PressEurope: The summit kicked off on Monday, with the participants observing a minute's silence in memory of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who lost their lives in a tragic helicopter accident last month.

The meeting of BRICS foreign ministers with the presence of Iran's Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri and the foreign ministers of 9 other BRICS countries, including Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, UAE and Saudi Arabia, will be held on Monday and Tuesday in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

Upon his arrival in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, Iranian Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Bagheri Kani said that Iran's membership in BRICS is a lasting legacy of the martyred Iranian president and foreign minister.
