Commentary (IP) - Arbaeen March has entered a new form in recent years and is being performed annually with more elegance than ever, while carrying with it several political messages.

Iran PressCommentary: One of the important messages of the Arbaeen March is the capacity of the world nations' diplomacy. No doubt, the management of the march in which more than 20 million people participated is not something that the Iraqi government can handle alone, but all nations, along with the Iraqi nation play roles hand-in-hand to hold the elegant event.

The nations play the role regardless of their national identity but merely with their Islamic identity, although the Iraqi nation plays the main role. In the nations' diplomacy, the people of several countries interact directly, with the least intervention of their governments, and from the relations among themselves. In this type of diplomacy, the interaction of the nations creates such firm connections that formal diplomacy may fail to fulfill it.

Another important message of the Arbaeen March is the intimacy of the states. Arbaeen is a cultural-religious phenomenon. During recent years, the observance of Arbaeen rituals has enhanced the cultural and religious connections between the Iranian and Iraqi governments.

Still, strengthening the Resistance discourse in West Asia is another significant message of the Arbaeen March. The event, with its current large participation of pilgrims, can be considered as a full-fledged manifestation of Resistance-oriented popular diplomacy.

Thanks to the Arbaeen thought and the self-sacrifices of Resistance commanders martyred, the Iranian and Iraqi nations have been on a united front for several years, directing their efforts to eliminate the Takfiri terrorism and strengthen the discourse of resistance.

As the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: "If the Islamic countries' nations across this vast region … not in the details but tin the general points get united, the Islamic world will reach the peak of progress and excellence … everywhere we saw the example of such communities, although the bodies came together, we saw that its reflection in the world became a source of honor and prestige for Islam and Muslims …. As you observed, millions of humans came together in the Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (AS); the great movement of a group of Muslims, itself – of course it was not specific to the Shia, the Sunnis also were present – which reflected in the world was bowed for, was admired; it was called the largest gathering in the world; who did so? Those who are monitoring the Islamic issue."

Arbaeen occasion portrays the merciful face of pure Islam. More than 20 million Imam Hussain's (AS) pilgrims participate in the Arbaeen March, yet no violence is seen there, but all is observed is practicing love and sincerity free from any worldliness.

Arbaeen proves that Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, Daesh (ISIS), Taliban, and … are not the representatives and symbols of Islam and Muslims; that Daeshism has no place in the Islamic world, but rather is a reading of Islam which the West tries to represent it as the symbol of Islam; that the symbol of real Islam is Arbaeen and Hajj occasions.

The occasion of Arbaeen is 40 days after Ashura Day when Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions were martyred in Karbala.  Ashura is the 10th day of Muharram. In 61 AH (October 10, 680 CE), Imam Hussain (AS) and his true companions were martyred in the battle against the army of then-time tyrant Yazid I, led by 'Umar b. Sa'd.
