Iran Press/ Iran News: In remarks after the talks, Abbas Araghchi said, "The discussions were productive and yielded a clear outline for the future collaboration between Iran and the agency, particularly significant given the critical nature of the upcoming year for Iran's nuclear program."
He added: "In my discussions with Mr. Grossi, I reaffirmed Iran's readiness to negotiate on nuclear issues and collaborate with the agency, as outlined in our prior accords. Nonetheless, the success of this cooperation hinges on the opposing sides' sincerity and level of commitment to this endeavor."
Reciprocity in Nuclear Deal
Araghchi stressed: "Iran has acted in good faith, honoring its commitments under the JCPOA, while the other side has opted out of the deal. Since we are assured of our nuclear program's peaceful intentions, we are open to collaborating with the agency and eager to proceed with our joint efforts. Nonetheless, this cooperation is predicated on the opposing party's reciprocal cooperation and adherence to their commitments."
De-escalation Framework
Araghchi, reaffirming Iran's willingness to cooperate with the agency, noted: "A key takeaway from the negotiations was the identification of a potential new framework for de-escalation in our relations with the agency and other parties. We are optimistic that these recent discussions will help alleviate tensions, paving the way for renewed negotiations and the discovery of a pragmatic solution to our challenges, preferably before the situation deteriorates."
In his closing remarks, he emphasized: "The path of confrontation yields no advantages for any party involved. It is essential that we embark on a collaborative trajectory, and we are prepared to do so. We remain hopeful that the opposing parties will likewise opt for a wise and judicious approach."
