Iran has no problem with any country in the region: Major General Baqeri

The Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces said in an open session of the parliament that Iran has no problem with any country in the Middle East and in the Persian Gulf.

Iran Press/Iran News: Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hussein Baqeri who was commemorating the ُSacred Defense Week as well as honoring the lawmakers who were involved in the war against Saddam's invasion to Iran added: "Iran was known as a weak and underdeveloped country, but for the last 40 years, it has been recognized by other characteristics. It is known with the unique leadership of Late Imam Khomeini (RH) and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. Along with all this, it is identified with the Sacred Defense Index."

"Our country was neutralized during Russian wars, but parts of its soil were separated. The country had another record after the Islamic Revolution and after the invasion of Saddam regime who was backed by the US. The eight-year war was planned for our country to defeat Iran within two or three weeks, but it didn't," Bagheri underlined.

"Other countries, including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, not only provided financial support but also they were responsible for the other logistics supports for Saddam's regime", Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces underscored.

He continued: "The British and French were other countries that supplied conventional weapons to Iraq and Germany with chemical weapons. These were the countries who did not fulfill their commitments in the  Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)."

"Iranians along with the leadership of Imam Khomeini (RH), the armed forces, the Basij, and other voluntary forces expelled the enemy from the country and ended the Sacred Defense," Major General Baqeri added.

"We say to the countries of the region that we have no problems with any of you," he said.

"Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which are main countries in the Islamic world, have lost their ways and must return to Islam and get closer to Iran in order to see a safe region. If we have a self-sufficient defense industry it is all about the blessings of eight years of Sacred Defense," Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hussein Baqeri concluded.
