Top official at the treasury responsible for sanctions and financial intelligence leaves the US administration.

Iran Press/ America:  Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, Sigal P. Mandelker, who is charged with developing and implementing U.S. government strategies to combat terrorist financing and money laundering, is leaving for the private sector as top U.S. Treasury officials said.

Sigal Mandelker, responsible for wielding the financial firepower of the world’s most powerful economy, signaled in the summer that she desires to return to the private sector, the U.S. Treasury secretary told The Wall Street Journal.

Ms. Mandelker said that although she has no immediate plans, a return to the private sector would offer her a more normal pace of life, allowing her to spend more time with her family.

As undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence of the US Treasury Department, Sigal Mandelker is the woman behind the scenes who is seizing Iran's money and preventing it from doing business around the world and making this as White House’s primary foreign policy tool in this regard. 207/219
