US Economic Terrorism targets civilians: FM Zarif

Iran’s Foreign Minister said that the US 'Economic Terrorism' against independent countries deliberately targets civilians.

Iran Press/Iran news: Answering the tweet of his Cuban counterpart Friday, the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said: “The US 'Economic Terrorism' against Cuba, China, Russia, Syria, Iran etc., deliberately target civilians, trying to achieve illegitimate political objectives through intimidation of innocent people.”

 

Continuing its 'Economic Terrorism' against the Iranian nation, the US added some Iran-related people, ships, and organization to the sanctions’ list on Wednesday.

“The US rouge behaviour now includes piracy, bribery, and blackmail,” added Zarif, referring to Washington’s recent attempt to bribe the captain of the Iranian oil tanker.

In another tweet on Wednesday, Iran's Foreign Minister reacted to the US blackmail to the Indian captain of 'Adrian Darya 1' and said that US blackmail is turning to a pattern.

He went on to say that the country will continue to stand with Cuba.

The Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla condemned the US sanctions against Iran´s maritime entities in a tweet on Thursday, saying: “the US sanctions against Iran´s maritime entities are another violation of International Law.”

“The US coercive measures preventing the movement of Iranian oil affect the brother peoples of Iran and Syria and threaten the peace in that volatile region,” Rodríguez added.
