Chief of General Staff of Iranian armed forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri

The Chief of General Staff of Iran's armed forces has stressed that Iran is already a powerful nation and has dashed the hopes of the enemies, and is well on its way to becoming an unstoppable and undefeatable power in the international arena.

Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking in Tehran on Wednesday Major General Mohammad Bagheri added: "Iran is already a powerful country in the region, and we are poised to become an invincible power when we complete the second step of the Islamic Revolution."

The comments were made during a visit to the Passive Defence Organisation of Iran. Major General Bagheri praised the performance of the Passive Defence Organisation, saying it had acted well and had managed to increase Iran's readiness in non-military and passive defence, Iran Press reported.

In further remarks, the Chief of General Staff of Iran's armed forces said both the military and passive defence of Iran are growing in parallel, becoming more sophisticated as time goes by.

He added: "With the Almighty's blessings, the Passive Defence Organisation plays a major role in ensuring security in some of the most sensitive industries in Iran, including the peaceful civilian nuclear industry, the biotechnology industry, cyberspace, and the chemical and petrochemical industries."

Major General Bagheri also praised the young, talented and highly educated workforce in the Passive Defence Organisation which in practice had shown that Iran was highly capable and truly believed in the Islamic Republic slogan: "Yes We Can". 101/211
