Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council told a meeting of the board members of Majlis anti-sanctions fraction that a strategy of active resistance has brought the US policy of maximum pressure to its knees.

Iran Press/Iran news: Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani said during the meeting on Saturday that the US policy of maximum pressure, followed by false assumptions of the collapse of the Iranian national economy, failed against a strategy of active resistance.

Referring to the intense psychological warfare of the hostile mainstream media to support the US policy of maximum pressure on Iran, he added, "Despite the heavy economic pressures, the resilient Iranian people not only did not lose the war because of their awareness, insight, and intelligence but also dashed the hopes of the enemy, who is now pessimistic about achieving its goals," Iran Press reported.

Shamkhani welcomed the initiative of the anti-sanction faction in the Iranian parliament (Majlis)  who now wants to form a club of sanctioned countries to actively fight US economic terrorism, saying resistance leads to success when combined with an active approach and a wise resilient strategy.

He cited the issue of countering sanctions as "a unifying factor" among the many political groups and factions in the country.

Shamkhani said, "The enemy, based on past experience, realizes that the Islamic Republic has reached considerable maturity and capability to deal with threats and therefore tries to distract the country by creating social, political and security crises."

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the anti-sanctions faction in the Majlis, Mohammad Ali Pourmokhtar explained the formation process of the group and its activities, as well as the steps that are taken to form 'a club of countries which have been sanctioned by the United States'. 101/211/213
