A suicide attack in northern Kunduz province in Afghanistan has left at least 6 people dead and more than a dozen wounded including many civilians.

Iran Press/Asia: Six members of the Afghan security forces were killed while 15 others were injured in the suicide bomb attack, according to Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

Eleven civilians and four members of the security forces were among the injured, he added.

Afghan television (Afghan TV1 ) reported that the suicide bomber detonated his explosives in a High Security Unit at around 3:00 pm local time.

Other local Afghan sources put the casualty figures much higher at 15 killed and dozens injured, Khaamah Press reported.

No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.

The blast comes two days after Taliban militants stormed into the city of Kunduz before they were pushed back by Afghan government forces.

On Saturday, a suicide bomber killed 10 people including the spokesman of the provincial police at the main square of the city.
