Iran not after war but responds harshly to aggression: Deputy FM

In a meeting with the chairman of Indonesian Parliament First Commission, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister welcomed the expansion of comprehensive ties with Indonesia, saying that Iran's empowering its defense capabilities for deterrence of enemies' aggression.

Iran Press/Iran News: In the meeting which was held on Wednesday in Tehran, the chairman of Indonesian Parliament First Commission, Abdul Kharis Almasyhari, as well as the commission members, met with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi.

Iran has never triggered a war its history and never will do so, but it also never hesitates to defend itself against enemies, giving them quick crushing response, Araghchi said according to Iran Press.

"Based on the Fatwa of the Leader of Islamic Revolution, we forbid any use of mass destruction weapons, yet we have developed nuclear technology in the form of a peaceful domestic plan through our scientists' capabilities," Araghchi asserted.

The Iranian deputy foreign minister also referred to the US inhumane sanctions against his country and stressed that Iran is determined to change the sanctions into a fortune to promote its national economy.

Indonesia's Abdul Kharis Almasyhari also for his part praised Iran's self-esteem and independence and stressed the deepening of parliamentary ties between the two countries, announcing Indonesia's readiness for cooperation in all areas including extremism and terrorism.
