(Tehran IP) - Iranian MPs have once again chosen Ali Larijani as the speaker of parliament (Majlis).

Iran Press/Iran news: Final result of voting for the Speaker of Iranian parliament and Deputy Speakers have been announced, with results showing on Sunday that from a total of 274 votes, 159 votes referred to Ali Larijani, 105 votes referred to Mohammad Reza Aref, and 9 voted for Mohammad Javad Abtahi. 

According to an Iran Press report, five MPs abstained from the vote.

Also, voting for the deputy speakers took place on Sunday, with a total of 280 MPs taking part in the vote. Masoud Pezeshkian garnered 148 votes, becoming the first deputy speaker, and Abdol Reza Misri with 143 votes was elected as the second deputy speaker. Two other candidates, Ali Mottahari and Mohammad Hussein Farangi secured 128 votes and 121 votes respectively. Eight ballots were declared null and void.

The following MPs were elected to the presiding board (executive board) of the Majlis:

(1) Amir Hussein Ghazizadeh Hashemi with 160 votes

(2) Mohammad Ali Vakili with 153 votes

(3) Ali Asghar Yousefnejad  with 151 votes

(4) Ranjbarzadeh  with 138 votes

(5) Ahmad Amirabadi Farahani with 132 votes

(6) Ali Reza Rahimi with 126 votes

Also MPs voted to elect Behrouz Nemati, Mohammad Ashouri Taziani, and Assadollah Abbasi as supervisors of the executive board of the Majlis (parliament) in the current parliament.
