long-term war management capacity specifies fate of any war: Iranian Major General

Khatam al-Anbia Headquarters commander said the fate of any war breaking out in the Middle East will appertain to the scale and duration of the battle, not to the intensity of the war.

Iran PressIran news: In a visit to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corp (IRGC) Aerospace Force’s Missile Units on Monday, Commander of the Khatam al-Anbia Headquarters Major General Gholam Ali Rashid said the fate of any war in the future will be decided by the 'scope of the battlefields and the element of time.'

"The history of West Asia wars in the past four decades shows that the human and material losses inflicted on initiators of wars like Saddam (Hussein), the US, the Zionist regime and Saudi Arabia, resulted from a mistake in the calculations and decision making," the commander said.

He also warned warmongers against a military conflict in an expanse of 8 million square kilometers in the Middle East, stressing that no power in the world would be able to end such a war.

"The capacity for long-term management of war in extensive geographical areas, not its intensity or destructive power, would determine the final result of a war," the Iranian general added.

Iranian officials and military authorities have frequently warned adversaries that they can initiate a war but they will not be the ones deciding to end the war if one ever were to break out.

Last year, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the US government is aware of the crushing response it will face if it undertook military action against Iran, reiterating that the time of 'hit and run' is over.

The US is seeking a way to evade the costs of standing against Iran and place them on regional countries, Ayatollah Khamenei said, reminding certain regional countries that if they confront Iran, "they will definitely suffer blows and defeat."

Ayatollah Khamenei also said that the enemies have resorted to economic war after realizing the futility of military action against Iran.

"They have now focused on economic and cultural war, with the US Treasury Department working as the headquarters of the economic war on the Islamic Republic Establishment," Ayatollah Khamenei said in April 2018.
