EEC chairman, Tigran Sargsyan, calls for cooperation with Iran

Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan has called for the formation of the first transit committee between Iran and EEC.

Iran Press/Asia: Tigran Sargsyan has called for setting up a committee which will benefit the member states of the EEC willing to utilize Iran's capacity to exchange goods with India, Pakistan and Southeastern Asia countries.

According to Iran Press, Sargsyan described the committee as instrumental in expanding Eurasian trade practices and commercial convergence of regional countries and beyond. In a meeting with an Iranian delegation, Sargsyan also called the use of national currencies in bilateral transactions as one of the most effective ways of countering US-imposed sanctions.

Referring to the agreement on EEC Free Trade with Vietnam, Iran, and China as its signatories, the EEC chief said that soon there will be the agreements on free trade with Singapore and Serbia so that trade and cooperation of EEC would be further developed. 101/211/219
