Iranian Minister of Petroleum, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh has emphasized that for more than a year now, since the middle of 2018, his country has been extracting more natural gas from the joint South Pars gas field than Qatar.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Iranian oil minister also stressed that Iran wants to keep this situation going and intends to produce more natural gas from the giant South Pars Field than Qatar.

In further remarks, and with reference to the recent soaring oil prices after the attack on the Aramco oil facility in Saudi Arabia, the oil minister Zanganeh said it is unethical to use oil as an instrument of politics or as a weapon. Zangeneh said no country should "use oil as a weapon," Iran Press reported. 101/211
