Iranians not to be intimidated and succumb to pressures: Zarif

The Iranian Foreign Minister said that the Iranian people will not be intimidated and succumb to the pressures and move forward with all their might and authority.

Iran Press/Asia: In an interview with China Central Television (CCTV), Mohammad Javad Zarif said, "We are very optimistic about the future, we are not dependent on outsiders, and the Iranian nation is working hard to make progress."

Referring to US economic and economic sanctions, Zarif said that Iran had been facing the most severe economic pressures since the last year, but it is still going through problems.

The top Iranian diplomat added, "Iran has close relations with its neighbors and Russia. Despite all the pressures, we will not be intimidated and succumb to the pressures and the Iranians move forward with all their might and authority."

"Iran is still operating within JCPOA"

Elsewhere in the interview, Zarif said, "Iran's nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is an agreement between Iran and the world's major nations. Iran has not withdrawn from the deal. Rather, Iran has reduced some of its commitments because of the behaviors and actions of other parties, especially after the United States withdrew from JCPOA and Iran endured a year of pressure."

"Political approach, is only solution to Syria's crisis"

Asked about the Syrian issue, the Iranian Foreign Minister said, "Iran, Russia and Turkey have worked well together to resolve the Syria's crisis and eradicate terrorism by providing a political approach and constructive proposals for the past five years."

"Unfortunately, despite these constructive measures, some foreign powers want the situation in Syria and the region to be unsafe. They want the Middle East region to lose its balance and dynamism and become divided. Our approach is peaceful, but the US sells weapons which cost billions of dollars to the Persian Gulf littoral Arab countries and play a very destructive role," Zarif added.

"Silk Road can lead to economic growth"

In another part of the interview, Zarif pointed to Iran's cooperation with China on the Silk Road, saying that the Silk Road could create many opportunities and lead to economic growth, poverty alleviation, construction of infrastructure, and reduction of transnational crimes.

"Western interference, root cause of Hong Kong unrest"

Asked about the unrest in Hong Kong, Zarif said, "Some Western countries have always sought to interfere in independent states to advance their political motives and of course they can't make a split in China."
The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that China does not need other countries to control Hong Kong.

At the end, Zarif congratulated this year, which marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, adding: "The Chinese determine their own fate. That is admirable."

Iran's Foreign Minister described China as the representative of the world's independent economic miracle, saying that China has achieved remarkable achievements in last seven decades by focusing on the growth and mobilization of its nation's potential.
