Tehran (IP) – The spokesman for the Food and Drug Administration of Iran announced that the second consignment of Indian 'COVAXIN', including 375,000 doses, will enter Iran today (Wednesday).

Iran Press/Iran News: Kianoush Jahanpour said: "So far, we have imported 920,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine from Russia and India."

On Thursday, 11 March, the deputy head of Iran's Customs for technical affairs announced the arrival of the first Indian COVID vaccine in Iran.

Mehrdad Jamal Arvanaqi said that the shipment of the Indian COVID vaccines arrived at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Airport, which contained 150,000 doses of the vaccine. 

Earlier, four shipments of COVID vaccine, including three shipments from Russia and one from China, were imported to Iran.

According to the Kianoosh Jahanpour, a shipment of 100,000 doses of Cuban-made vaccine was also sent to Tehran for the implementation of the third phase of the human trial.

Moreover importing coronavirus vaccine from abroad, Iran is also developing its home-made vaccine including CovIran, Razi, Fakhra and others.

CovIran is on the mass production level.
