Israeli forces detained at least eight Palestinians, including a journalist, during predawn raids on Wednesday from across the occupied West Bank.

IranPress/Middle East: According to the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS), in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Awadallah Adel al-Umour.

PPS confirmed that Israeli forces detained a reporter for Palestine TV, Ali Dar Ali; Dar Ali was detained after Israeli forces raided his home in the central West Bank district of Ramallah.

Dar Ali was the seventh Palestinian journalist detained in the last two weeks, although some of the journalists detained were later released after undergoing about one week of Israeli interrogation.

In the northern West Bank district of Tubas and Jenin; six Palestinians also detained.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,820 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
