The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Division, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said on Monday that Iran has the capability to build ballistic missiles with a longer range.

Iran news: Noting that Iran’s missiles currently cover a range of 2,000 kilometers (1,240 miles), General Hajizadeh said, “we have the ability to build missiles with a broader range... We do not have limitations from a technical perspective or by conventions with regard to missile range.”

He added that many enemy bases are within 300-400 kilometers and some others in 700-800 kilometers of the Islamic Republic, saying, the missile ranges are decided based on the country's defensive needs, Iran Press reported.

Referring to the achievements of IRGC, General Hajizadeh emphasized that the most advanced equipment is being used in the aerospace division, saying despite the long-term sanctions against Iran in the past forty years, today, the country is self-sufficient in the field of missiles, from the drawing board to the finished product, and stands in a good place in the field of defense.

He emphasized that self-sufficiency in missile technology, along with Iran's devoted, committed, powerful and revolutionary manpower, has been a source of fear for the enemies.

Earlier on Nov 22, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, in a televised speech said that the country owes the precision of its missiles to the prudence of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution because he said his first priority was the precision of missiles, Iran Press News Agency reported.

"We have been accomplishing a lot in the field of missiles for the past 34 years, mastering the capability to produce a variety of missiles, but the missiles lacked the required precision. When I was picked to lead the force I had a meeting with Ayatollah Khamenei, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, who set his priority as precision of the missiles. Today, we owe the precision of our missiles to the prudence of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution," he said.  103
