A former Iranian navy chief, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, has said Iran's defense industry products are advanced, hi-tech, and are able to compete in the global market. He was speaking on Tuesday, at a defense industry exhibition in Pakistan.

Iran News: According to an Iran Press report, the admiral has travelled to Pakistan as part of Tehran’s efforts to boost defense diplomacy and relations with friendly countries and with the aim of learning about Pakistan’s defense capacities and its aerial, naval and ground equipment put on display at the International Defense Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2018.

Holding bilateral and multilateral meetings with commanders and senior military officials from Pakistan and other countries partaking in the event, and learning about the latest developments and modern achievements presented at the exhibition were the other goals of Admiral Habibollah Sayyari's visit to the exhibition.

Heading a high-ranking military delegation, Sayyari departed for Pakistan on Monday.

The visit is taking place at the invitation of Pakistani Army Commander General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

The 10th International Defense Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) kicked off on Tuesday in Pakistan and will last until November 30.

IDEAS brings together all the industry's players across the globe to showcase the latest technological innovations. The 4 days of the show are exclusively for trade visitors and high official defense delegates.

Some 410 companies from 43 countries will showcase their latest defense-related products.

Rear Admiral Sayyari is slated to meet with Pakistani officials on the sideline of the event.  208/103
