Iran Press /Iran News: The governor of Mazandaran province has confirmed that the National Radio and Television Broadcasters of ECO member states will gather in the city of Ramsar this November, for the first-ever conference of its kind.
Locating in the border area, Mazandaran province is in the vicinity of member states of organization of ECO with 400 million population.
In an excusive with Iran Press, Ahmad Hosseinzadeqan said, "Mazandaran is in the vicinity of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Caspian Sea and we have to prepare the grounds for proper use of those potentials."
Hosseinzadeqan stressed, "We had a meeting with the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) Director, Mohammad-Mehdi Mazaheri and we will also have another meeting with the economic department of the ECO to promote our relations with the member states."
"In the meeting, we got to know that TV and Radio forum of ECO members (Ecomu) are going to take place in Iran and it was supposed to establish of the ECO Broadcasting Union for the first time. I offered to host the meeting in Mazandaran, Ramsar. We are intended to introduce our tourism and economic, and handicrafts, … capacities to the media managers who are coming to our province," the high ranking official noted.
Hosseinzadeqan added that Mazandaran is ranked first in 14 agricultural products and "we can supply many goods that ECO member states are importing from other countries. But there are no necessary relations between us and these countries. Relations between Iran and countries around the Caspian sea (CIS) is cold somehow."
"To me, in the current situation and with the US sanctions in place, we have to pay enough attention to these potential resources, and these countries should be among our priorities. This is a historical opportunity. The other initiative is 'EURASIA UNION', proposed by Iran's President Rouhani. Northern provinces such as Mazandaran, Gilan, and Golestan can play important role in this regard," the senior official reitarated.
Elsewhere the Iranian official stated, "We also had a few developments in Mazandaran in recent months as we signed a MOU with heads of commerce chambers of CIS member states, and we also had a conference on job vacancies."
He also underlined, "At a time when ECO member states' TV and Radio forum is taking place in Ramsar we are also going to make active the private sectors in the province and at the same time, we are going to invite businessmen and private sectors of neighboring countries to boost our economy focusing on tourism."
Calling Mazandaran as the tourism capital of ECO member states, the governor also said the Iranian Media including multi-languages media bear the responsibility to introduce attractions of Mazandaran province to the people of countries in the region.213
