International forum of trade and investment opportunities was held in Mazandaran province, in northern Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: International forum of trade and investment opportunities was held on Tuesday morning in Mazandaran university of medical sciences in the city of Sari in northern Iran.

A number of ambassadors and economic advisers, heads of chambers of commerce in the Caspian Sea region, a number of top businessmen and industrialists and economic activists and top investors from 31 provinces were present in this forum, Iran Press reported.

Participating in this forum, Minister of Information and Communications Technology delivered a keynote speech.

Meanwhile, head of the assembly of representatives of Mazandaran province, Valiollah Nanvakenari in a speech at the forum said: "Taking advantage of its potential capabilities, Mazandaran can play an important role in the economic prosperity of the country."

Representative of Nowshahr and Chalus and Kelardasht in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Ghasem Ahmadi Lashki also said: "Mazandaran has the ability to improve its function from provincial to state."

Mazandaran province with three airports, three harbors able to handle 3 million tonnes of cargo, special strategic position, adjacency to the Caspian Sea littoral states, connection to the national railway network, and annual production of seven million tons of agricultural produce, has many capabilities in non-oil exports.
