Tehran (IP) - Japanese delegation spokesman, Osuga Takeshi told in a press conference on Wednesday night that Japan doesn't act as a mediator in US-Iran tensions but wants to facilitate the relationships between Iran and Japan.

Iran Press/Iran news: The press secretary of Japan’s foreign ministry and Japanese delegation spokesman Takeshi Osuga highlighted the fruitfulness of Japan's prime minister, Abe Shinzo’s talks with Iranian officials and stresses out the regularity of the meetings, Iran Press reported.

“Expansion of economic and cultural ties alongside other common fields between Iran and Japan is the aim of the trip,” said Osuga adding: "Iran plays a decisive role in maintaining peace and security in the region."

Osuga stressed: "Like Iran, Japan does not seek nuclear weapons."

He noted Abe Shinzo's promise to try to find solutions to keep the region stable and peaceful. 213/214/208
