Iran Press/ Iran news: Mojtaba Rezakhah, the head of the delegation participating in the 144th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Indonesia, said about resolving the Ukraine crisis: "The firm and principled position of the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been to stop war and violence around the world."
Rezakhah added: "The crisis in Ukraine is rooted in the political and military decisions and actions of the US government, and the double standard policy is not a good solution to deal with wars, both in Yemen and in Ukraine."
The head of the Iranian delegation to the IPU assembly also said that security concerns stemming from NATO's efforts to expand eastward to independent countries were unjustifiable.
He added: "While emphasizing the adherence of all countries to the principles of international law, the adoption of a negotiated and diplomatic approach is necessary to stop the war in the Ukraine crisis, and the Islamic Republic of Iran calls on the parties to the conflict to cease hostilities and start negotiations immediately."
